Family sessions are typically a lot of work, but they tend to be the most rewarding for me.  We are capturing a moment in time when these children will never be the same size again.  Their faces will change, and the little things they do like play with rocks or pick up sticks--those things will eventually stop.  You may not realize they even did some of those things until you look back at your portraits from that year and see it.  I like watching for moments.  Times in which kids are being themselves.  If we don't capture it in pictures, who's to say you will remember it was even a thing?  This is them.  Sometimes the most candid, "un-perfect" shots are my favorite because they are real.  These times are fleeting.  Don't wait to schedule your family portraits until you have lost that magic number of pounds, or even until your kids are out of their braces.  These times are precious and every day should be celebrated.
